WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
Open water program is geared towards preparing swimmers of different levels for open water swims of 1km and longer.
OPEN WATER OPTIONS
GROUP STROKE CORRECTION AND FITNESS PROGRAM
Months: October & November, January to March
Times: 08.30 – 09.30
Early Bird sessions 6:30 am Tuesdays and Thursdays only (Starting October ending February)
Tuesday - Friday
Time 8:30 am sharp. Please ensure that you are dressed (cap goggles and wetsuit if needed) and ready to start at 8:30am.
R100 for once off session
R250 per month for once a week (4 x sessions per month)
R400 per month for twice a week (8 x sessions per month)
R550 per month for three times a week (12 x sessions per month)
INDIVIDUAL STROKE CORRECTION DAYS:
Monday, Wed, Friday before 08.30 or afer 09.30
Fees: R150 per once off session
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
OU Skip tickets obtained directly from Ou Skip.
Towel, Swim suit, Cap, earplugs,(putty buddies or prestick works well) Goggles, Swim Fins (short ones - to help with leg strength and drills)
Wetsuit optional: The pool water might be very cold and wetsuits will be allowed.If however you are half Polar bear, we don’t mind and we will not discriminate against you if you prefer to swim without a wetsuit! :o)
Something to drink as it’s important to stay hydrated and a snack to keep energy levels up, especially once we start swimming longer swims.
We will communicate via sms 0824989437 whatsapp, or emails Please let us know if you will not be at swimming.
Sessions will go ahead irrespective of bad weather. Exceptions to the rule will be lightning and extreme weather but if you are not sure then please confirm with us.
OPEN WATER SWIMS
We will attempt to do one open water swim a week either at Melkbos beach starting at the NSRI parallel to the shore or Big Bay at the NSRI. Duration will be from 30min onwards as we progress and become fitter. Days and times will be confirmed on a Monday and will vary according to weather conditions.
There is one open water swim every 1st Sunday of the month at Clifton beach for those who want to join them. Visit their website for more information. This is a great opportunity to gain some more open water experience.
EARLY MORNING OPENWATER Group for kids (see link for Adults)
OPENWATER TRAINING for children Grade 3-7. Must be able to swim 100m non stop.
DAYS: Tuesdays & Thursdays
TIMES: 06.30 -07.15 (yes in the morning before school: o)
FEES: R250 per month for once a week or R400 per month for twice a week for children

Weather permitting we will have 1 ocean swim per month which will be confirmed before the time.Please note that a minimum of 5 swimmers needs to commit for us to go ahead. Swimmers can wear wetsuits.
